At an unprecedented gathering on Friday 28 November 2014, more than 600 South Australians agreed that a transformation is required to ensure the State’s health system delivers the best quality health care first time, every time.
Health experts including doctors, nurses, midwives, allied health and scientific and other professionals – joined consumers, representatives from the community, local government, unions, the public service and the non-government sector at the Transforming Health Summit.

Attendees of the Summit also heard a presentation (PDF 2MB) from Sinéad O’Brien, SA Health, about Consultation feedback on the Transforming Health Discussion Paper.
Attendees of the Summit endorsed the Transforming Health Communiqué (PDF 262KB), outlining a commitment to transformation and further consultation before decisions are made by Government.
All of the feedback received was considered at the Summit and much of it was incorporated into the final Communiqué. Comments that did not result in changes to the Communiqué will be considered as part of the overall feedback that informs the future decisions for Transforming Health.
